History
Managing Wastewater for Longview, Kelso, Beacon Hill Water & Sewer District, & Cowlitz County
The original plant was constructed in 1976 and had a capacity of 13 million gallons per day (MGD). A parallel plant was constructed on the site in 2000, with a capacity of 13 MGD to bring the total capacity to 26 MGD.
Biosolids Improvements were constructed in 2009 to provide an Exceptional Quality (EQ) Class A Product, which is the highest category for biosolids.
A regional Biosolids Facility is currently under design, which will expand the plant’s capacity and produce a dried Class A EQ biosolids product that will be more amenable for use by the public. This project is expected to be completed in 2025.
